There are no strict limits on the amount of clay you can use. We do ask that materials are used in a fair and responsible way. The team may decline a project if the request is considered outside reasonable or practical usage.

To ensure equal guidance for all participants, classes are divided into either handbuilding or wheel throwing. Wheel throwing requires more individual instruction and is therefore offered separately in smaller groups.

While our studio can seat 18 people, we accept up to 12 students for our handbuilding class, to allow everyone a comfortable working space. For our wheel throwing classes, the groups are maximum 6 students.

Yes, simple handbuilding techniques such as adding handles or altering thrown forms are permitted in wheel classes. However, the primary focus remains wheel throwing.

At this time, bundles cannot be mixed between disciplines. If you would like to explore both techniques, we recommend booking separate courses or attending drop-in sessions.

Ceramics is a time-intensive process. Before firing, pieces must dry completely to prevent cracking or damage in the kiln. Drying time depends on temperature and humidity and typically takes 1–3 weeks. Each piece is then fired twice (bisque and glaze firing), with each firing cycle taking approximately 36 hours. From completion to pickup, the turnaround time is generally around 4 weeks, though this may vary slightly depending on the season.

While we take great care throughout the process, ceramics is inherently unpredictable. Cracks or defects can occur due to craftsmanship, drying conditions, or kiln dynamics. For this reason, we cannot guarantee the survival of every piece and do not offer refunds for firing outcomes.

This depends on your experience level. If you are new to ceramics, we may adjust your project to ensure it is achievable within the session timeframe and aligned with your skill level. For example, complex forms such as teapots are not realistic during a first drop-in class. In a 4-week course, there is more time to develop larger or more advanced pieces. Participants with prior experience are welcome to work independently within the time and material limits of the class.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dusty. Clay washes out easily, but we suggest avoiding delicate fabrics. Aprons are available in the studio.

The number of completed pieces varies depending on technique and individual pace. In a drop-in class, most participants complete one piece. In a 4-week course, students typically produce several finished works.

We ask that finished work be collected within 8 weeks after notification. Pieces left beyond this time may be discarded due to limited storage space.

For our handbuilding classes, we allow children aged 12 or older to participate in classes. Younger children are welcome to join along with an adult. For children accompanied by adults, a seat for both the adult and child must be booked.
